The Voice of Wilkinson sat down with new faculty member Dr. Maliheh Ghajargar and asked her why she chose Wilkinson College<\/a> and what it means to be a part of the heart and soul <\/i>of Chapman University. As always, we included those fun “get-to-know-you” questions we all love.<\/p>\n

Voice of Wilkinson: Wilkinson is the heart and soul of Chapman University. What does being a part of the heart and soul of this amazing university mean to you?\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Maliheh Ghajargar: That\u2019s definitely a privilege which means being part of something that nurtures life and growth through care, reflection and scholarship.<\/p>\n

VoW: What\u2019s your favorite movie and\/or book?<\/b><\/p>\n

MG: That\u2019s a difficult question, I have many favorite movies and books. But one of the latest movies I watched and really enjoyed was \u201cBecoming Astrid.\u201d It is a biographical film about the early life of Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. She was the author of Pippi Longstocking<\/i>. I feel the movie is a simple yet beautiful representation of independence and womanhood. I mainly read academic books, but I love reading children\u2019s books. One of my favorite children’s book author and illustrator is Tove Jansson, the creator of Moomins!<\/p>\n

VoW: Share a fun fact with us!<\/b><\/p>\n

MG: Not sure if it\u2019s a fun fact, but I (still) love finger painting.<\/p>\n

VoW: Tell us the most interesting place you have traveled to.<\/b><\/p>\n

MG: Gotland, Sweden.<\/p>\n

VoW: Why did you choose Chapman?<\/b><\/p>\n

MG: Chapman cares about interdisciplinary and DEI research, that\u2019s one of the reasons I chose Chapman.<\/p>\n
