{"id":16593,"date":"2025-12-18T15:06:33","date_gmt":"2025-12-18T23:06:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/wilkinson\/2025\/12\/18\/rooted-in-heart\/"},"modified":"2026-07-21T20:22:03","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T20:22:03","slug":"rooted-in-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/wilkinson\/2025\/12\/18\/rooted-in-heart\/","title":{"rendered":"Rooted in Heart: A New Student-Curated Exhibition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In response to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/wilkinson\/index.aspx\">Wilkinson College\u2019s<\/a> 2025 Engaging the World Initiative, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/wilkinson\/about\/events\/etw-environment-building-resilient-futures.aspx\">Leading the Conversation on the Environment and Building Resilient Futures<\/a>, students worked collaboratively to curate a new exhibition of Escalette Collection artwork titled <em>Rooted in Heart.<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>The exhibition is located on the first-floor hallway in Roosevelt Hall and will be on display until June 5, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The student-curators of <em>Rooted in Heart<\/em> were part of Fiona Shen\u2019s First Year Focus class, Exploring the Escalette Permanent Art Collection: An Experiential Journey, a course where students learn critical thinking skills by working hands-on with the Escalette Collection. <em>Rooted in Heart<\/em> is the culmination of the research, writing, and planning done throughout the semester.
