He was 83.&#xD;<br \/>\n&#xD;<br \/>\nThe world knew him a<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/wilkinson\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2013\/01\/leon-leyson.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1935\" alt=\"Man smiling.\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/wilkinson\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2013\/01\/leon-leyson-300x285.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"285\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/wilkinson\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2013\/01\/leon-leyson-300x285.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/wilkinson\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2013\/01\/leon-leyson.jpg 449w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\ns very possibly the<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/news\/local\/Holocaust-Survivor-on-Schindlers-List-Died-186626711.html\">youngest Schindler&#x2019;s List survivor<\/a><br \/>\n. As a child he had to stand atop a box to reach the machinery in the factory of the German industrialist who saved 1,100 Jews from the Nazis by claiming them to staff his factories. But at Chapman Leyson was also a friend and teacher who poured out his story and memories of<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ushmm.org\/museum\/exhibit\/focus\/schindler\/\">Oskar Schindler<\/a><br \/>\n so that others might learn what ordinary people can do in extraordinary situations.&#xD;<br \/>\n&#xD;<\/p>\n<p><a
