The event is free and open to the public, students, staff and faculty. <\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">2-3:30 p.m.: Nixon Scholars Panel:&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\"><b><i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nixoncenter.org\/index.cfm?action=showPage&amp;page=kemp\">Geoffrey Kemp<\/a><\/i><\/b>, Director of <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nixoncenter.org\/index.cfm?action=showpage&amp;page=regional\"><span style=\"color: purple;font-family: Calibri\">Regional Strategic Programs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\"> at The Nixon Center. He served in the White House during the first Reagan administration as Special Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs and Senior Director for Near East and South Asian Affairs on the National Security Council Staff. Dr. Kemp received his Ph.D. in Political Science at M.I.T. and earned his M.A. and B.A. degrees from Oxford University.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><b><i><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nixoncenter.org\/index.cfm?action=showpage&amp;page=saunders\">Paul Saunders<\/a><\/span><\/i><\/b><span>, Executive Director of The Nixon Center. In addition to being the Center\u2019s chief operating officer, he directs its U.S. &#8211; Russian Relations Program and works on other issues, including energy and climate change, U.S. &#8211; European relations, and the role of democracy in U.S. foreign policy. He is also Associate Publisher of the foreign policy magazine, <i>The National Interest<\/i>, published bi-monthly by The Nixon Center, and Publisher of <i>National Interest online<\/i>. <\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\"><b><i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nixoncenter.org\/index.cfm?action=showpage&amp;page=thompson\">Drew Thompson<\/a><\/i><\/b>, Director of China Studies and Starr Senior Fellow at The Nixon Center in Washington, D.C.&nbsp; Prior to joining The Nixon Center, he was the National Director of the China-MSD HIV\/AIDS Partnership in Beijing. Mr. Thompson served previously as Assistant Director to the Freeman Chair in China Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).&nbsp; He lived in Shanghai from 1993 to 1998. Mr. Thompson was the founder and Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce Transportation and Logistics Committee in Shanghai.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in
