{"id":340,"date":"2010-09-13T11:53:00","date_gmt":"2010-09-13T11:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/wilkinson\/2010\/09\/13\/faculty-news-department-of-art-5\/"},"modified":"2010-09-13T11:53:00","modified_gmt":"2010-09-13T11:53:00","slug":"faculty-news-department-of-art-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/wilkinson\/2010\/09\/13\/faculty-news-department-of-art-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Department of Art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An installation of large-scale photographs by Stephen Berens, assistant professor, Department of Art, Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, were recently included in an exhibition at the Poor Farm, a international exhibition and artist residency program in Wisconsin. The installation consists of two 5\u2019x12\u2019 photographs shot approximately 45 feet apart looking out the front windows of the Poor Farm in March. In August the photographs were installed directly opposite the windows from which they were shot, flipping the landscape north to south and from midsummer to early spring. Since the images were produced using a robotic tripod head that allowed100 separate photographs of the site to be seamed together to form one image it allowed the viewer to see the landscape more clearly in its reproduction than by looking out the windows at the landscape itself.
