The series is about expressing differences, launching new ways of thinking, exploring connections, and moving towards knowing something more about who we are. The aim to create a provocative and lively discussion involving faculty, students, and visiting speakers.<\/p>\n<p>&#xD;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>2015 Synopsis<\/strong>: How do we know when we are doing the right thing? Is the right thing even possible; and who gets to decide what the right thing is? The theme of this year&#x2019;s Interstices is the In-betweenness of ethics; how we can live a life engaged in issues with a wider impact, from the individual, to the local, to the global?The &#x201C;in-betweeness&#x201D; to be discussed is apparent in the complexity of deciding what is right and wrong, good and bad. This is the same struggle we face in balancing our own sense of ethics and a wider social, global perspective. This could be anything from living a more environmentally responsible life to enacting a more peaceful existence; from making changes in our lives that have impact beyond ourselves to living outside of our own comfort zone. These issues and ideas are truly interdisciplinary and at this year&#x2019;s event we will explore how different disciplines might work together to build a stronger, more effective way of engaging in complex issues.<\/p>\n<p>&#xD;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">This year&#8217;s series will include speakers, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Pico-Iyer\/e\/B000APEDRG\">Pico Iyer,<\/a> Chapman Presidential Fellow and Renowned Journalist;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlderdiceLord\"> Lord John Alderice<\/a>, ARTIS (Europe) President and Chairman and Director for the Centre of Democracy and Peace Building; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/stellabruzzi\">Professor Stella Bruzzi<\/a>, FBA, University of Warwick Director of Research for Film and Television and Chapman University, Assistant Professor of International Studies and Political Science, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/our-faculty\/crystal-murphy\">Crystal Murphy, Ph.D.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#xD;<\/p>\n<p
