{"id":6443,"date":"2015-06-29T10:49:38","date_gmt":"2015-06-29T17:49:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogschapman.wpenginepowered.com\/wilkinson\/2015\/06\/29\/art-393-sustainable-design-students-are-on-a-mission\/"},"modified":"2015-06-29T10:49:38","modified_gmt":"2015-06-29T17:49:38","slug":"art-393-sustainable-design-students-are-on-a-mission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.chapman.edu\/wilkinson\/2015\/06\/29\/art-393-sustainable-design-students-are-on-a-mission\/","title":{"rendered":"Art 393 Sustainable Design Students Are on a &quot;MISSION&quot;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Art 393 Sustainable Design course begins today!<\/p>\n<p>This summer, the class has been asked to create and develop communication materials to help launch an awareness campaign in a pilot school program by their client, Lunar Mission One (LM1) in London.<\/p>\n<p>LM1 is charged with building a spacecraft to land on the moon and drill core samples for scientific study. DNA and digital data archiving the human race and the ecosystem of earth will be placed in a time capsule and left on the moon.<\/p>\n<p>The space mission\u2019s objectives are to explore the moon\u2019s interior and investigate a permanent manned base, while examining the potential for astronomy from the moon.\u00a0The time capsule archive will include a database of the biosphere of the Earth. A major cultural element of the project includes music, poetry, performing arts and visual arts.<\/p>\n<p>Chapman University\u2019s Art 393 Sustainable Design class has been asked to\u00a0develop a communication tool creating emotional interest and encouraging students to share their concepts and design ideas.
