Chapman University Alumni Association Elects New President and Executive Board

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University Alumni Association (CUAA) Board of Directors elected Jimmy Blalock (JD ‘09), Kelsey Flewellen ‘05, Aaron Flewellen ‘04 and Eleazar Elizondo ‘95 to the association’s executive board for the 2013-2014 term.
“I am proud to be able to serve Chapman. I want to introduce alumni to the wide range of alumni benefits they receive from alumni ID cards to free career advice and alumni events. Engagement in our alma mater should last a lifetime,” said Blalock about his goals for the association.
As president, Blalock’s responsibilities include providing leadership to the CUAA and assisting the Chapman University Strategic Engagement and Development staff in planning, evaluating and executing alumni engagement programs. In short, the president encourages fellow alumni to give their time, talent, and treasure to the university.
Kelsey Flewellen, CUAA president from 2010 to 2013, will serve as past-president. Her duties include supporting the goals and the activities of the CUAA president by providing advice, guidance and assistance.
“I am excited to work with such a strong executive board. The Alumni Association is such a great resource for our alumni and I am confident that we can continue to grow and strengthen the Chapman network,” said Aaron Flewellen, newly elected CUAA vice president of operations (VPO).
Flewellen’s duties as VPO include presiding in the absence of the president and past president as well as ensuring a constructive working relationship among the members and the Board of Directors.
“I’m looking forward giving back to Chapman by helping improve the communication and, ultimately, the sense of community between alumni and the university,” said Elizondo, who is now serving as the CUAA vice president of communications (VPC).
His duties include working with the president to oversee the development of CUAA’s communication strategy and ensure activities are in alignment with the Alumni Compact and annual strategic goals.
