The Class of 1966 celebrates 50 years of Panther Pride during Homecoming
October 5, 2016
The 50 Year Club welcomed the Class of 1966 back to campus at their annual luncheon on Saturday, October 1, 2016 to celebrate their 50-year reunion. President Daniele C. Struppa inducted the class into the club along with president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, Akin Ceylan ’90. Each inductee received a certificate congratulating them on their milestone, a gold stole and 50 Year Club pin.
In celebration of the 50-year reunion, a memory case filled with donated memorabilia and items from the University Archives is now on display in the Leatherby Libraries.
Cora (Hoffmaster) Johnson ’66 (pictured) donated photos from her college days to include in the display. In addition to artifacts that focus specifically on Chapman during 1965-1966, the case features highlights of timely American culture and history. The 1966 50-year reunion case will be on display in the Leatherby Libraries through September 2017 when it will be replaced by the Class of 1967’s 50-year reunion case.
Once inducted into the 50 Year Club, members are invited back to campus throughout the year to participate in events and gatherings like the Orientation Candle Lighting Ceremony and Commencement Weekend Dinner.
