Alumni Hour: Vivian Jiang ’17 The former swimmer is taking her talents across the pond this fall to pursue her MBA at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School
June 29, 2022
Vivian Jiang ’17 was a true exemplification of what a Chapman student-athlete is: she competed all four years on the women’s swim team, she double majored and had a double emphasis, held an internship and managed to balance that with her participation in Greek life. She also worked with the athletic trainers at Chapman, expanding her friend group to other student-athletes outside of the swim team. All of this has prepared her for what the real world has thrown at her over the last five-plus years.
The Cupertino, California native double majored in Business Administration and French, with a double emphasis in International Business and Finance. After graduating, she took the traditional route in finance and asset management for two years. Vivian then spent the next three-plus years at Intel, where she currently works as the Americas Sales Director for IoT Intelligent Transportation.
Her journey through the business world is not stopping there, as Vivian will be moving to England in September 2022 to pursue her Master in Business Administration at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. An impressive feat, as the Judge Business School only accepts roughly 31% of its applicants yearly.
Vivian credits her success in her professional life to her time as a student-athlete at Chapman. She learned how to prioritize her tasks, as well as how to make sacrifices. She also had to be extremely organized – something that is sure to be useful while pursuing an MBA. We cannot wait to see where Vivian’s journey in the United Kingdom takes her next!
