Since graduating in May 2023, Davey Cooper has decided to advance his athletic and professional career overseas. He earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Philosophy, providing a unique blend of skills and insights. After his last season on the Chapman football team, he sought opportunities through Europlayers, a platform that connects athletes with teams around the world. With support and guidance from Coach Owens, Cooper earned a spot with the Bendigo Dragons in Victoria, Australia.

In addition to the opportunity to play football, he began working as a representative for Softwave, selling stem cell recruitment machines as a form of non-invasive health care. This position allows him to integrate his business acumen with his passion for innovative health care.

Reflecting on his time as a student-athlete at Chapman, Cooper equipped leadership skills that he will carry forward into this next phase of his life. His credits his studies in Philosophy for his ability to communicate effectively. His background in Business Administration has given him the confidence to implement his ideas and take decisive action.

One of his most memorable moments at Chapman was when the football team, coming off an undefeated season, won their first playoff game at home in a thrilling triple-overtime competition against his brother’s rival school. He believes that level of emotion and excitement could never be replicated. However, winning the SCIAC championship in his senior season is a close second place.

As he tackles his new journey, Cooper encourages current students to cherish their years in school and work hard. With dedication and perseverance, he believes anyone can achieve their dreams.
