The Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance at Chapman University will host the OC Home Fair on its Orange campus Saturday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The educational event, which features 25 different sessions to choose from and 40 vendors representing various aspects of home ownership, is free and open to the public. Orange County home owners, sellers and buyers are also encouraged to attend.

Attendees will have opportunities to hear experts share tips on how to boost their credit, buy a home, reduce utility bills, understand the Orange County real estate market, invest, and stage and sell a home for top dollar. Industry experts from home lenders to insurance companies will be on hand to answer questions.

“A well informed public is the first step to insuring that past mistakes that led to the previous housing crash are not repeated,” said Fadel Lawandy, director of Chapman’s Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance.  “As one of the leading educational centers in the Orange County community, it is our responsibility to provide this education when possible. Bringing together experts involved with home ownership for a free event is a great opportunity for the public.”

Speakers include:

  • Gary Watts, Orange County real estate economist and Broker, Impact Real Estate
  • Steven Thomas, chief economist at Reports of Housing, account manager at Title 365
  • Ken Michaels, national talk show host
  • Rick Arvielo, president, New American Funding

Major sponsors of the OC Home Fair include: The Orange County Register, the Young Professionals Network, New American Funding, and the Orange County Association of Realtors.
