Jason Alexander headshotCongratulations to Jason Alexander, MBA ’19 who was recently promoted to Director of Park Operations for Tokyo Disneyland. In this senior executive role, Jason will oversee the overall management of park operations and stewardship of the Disney brand in the Japanese market. An accomplished manager before starting the Executive MBA program, having his MBA opened the door for Jason to receive this promotion.

“I wouldn’t have been considered a serious candidate for the role without having completed my MBA,” Jason said.

Jason began putting his education to work before completing his first course. As Senior Manager of Downtown Disney Business Relations, Jason was able to give bigger picture analysis right away. Conversations with his team at Disney were elevated as he implemented his education in the workplace, sharing classroom concepts with colleagues. The strategic management principles from Dean Turk’s class proved particularly valuable and he incorporated them right away.

Jason has spent 23 years with Disney, and a stint at the Shanghai Disney Resort inspired him to pursue his MBA. During his research of MBA programs, the Argyros School stood out as offering the style of education he wanted. That was confirmed for him throughout his education as he was surrounded by high achieving classmates and professors all helping each other advance.

“All the classes forced you to think at a higher level,” Jason recalled, “and my cohort was full of amazing people.”

The new role is a result of Jason embracing the higher expectations his MBA brings. Congratulations on the promotion, Jason! The Argyros School is proud of your accomplishments and excited to have collaborated on your career journey.
