CoPA students coalesce creative talents for American Celebration Chapman entertainment showcase raises university-wide scholarship funds
November 9, 2015
For the 34th consecutive year, Chapman University students from the College of Performing Arts (CoPA) came together for two weeks to master vocal scores and choreography, lighting and sound designs, costuming and makeup to create two exciting evenings of professional-caliber entertainment to raise scholarship funds for the entire university.
The November 6 and 7, 2015 American Celebration performances featured over 175 student dancers, singers, and theatre technicians, giving them an opportunity to hone their craft in a professional environment with the guidance and support of Chapman faculty and staff from the departments of Dance, Theatre, Production Management, and the Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music.
In the short video linked here, created by Chapman University’s Panther Productions, CoPA students took time out from their American Celebration 2015 show preparations to explain what this experience has meant.
Although 2015 is the final year the show was held in the historic Chapman Auditorium of Memorial Hall, students, faculty, staff, and American Celebration patrons look eagerly forward to the 2016 production which will be held in the university’s brand-new, state-of-the-art performance venue: Musco Center for the Arts!
