“If All the Sky Were Paper” veterans’ benefit show July 6 on Martha’s Vineyard
Announced on June 15, 2016
John B. Benitz, professor and chair of the Department of Theatre in Chapman University’s College of Performing Arts, is set to direct Andrew Carroll’s acclaimed drama If All the Sky Were Paper on July 6, 2016 at the 791-seat Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center in Vineyard Haven, MA. The cast list includes Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning actress Mary Steenburgen.
A compelling drama, IATSWP was created from Carroll’s New York Times bestselling-books War Letters and Behind the Lines, and retells the stories of wartime experience, taken from actual letters penned by troops and their loved ones. It is a humorous, poignant and moving evening of memories from American soldiers, Marines, sailors and airmen and their loved ones at home, from the American Revolution and Civil Wars to the two World Wars, Korea, Viet Nam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
This special performance is slated as a fundraiser for Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse, Dukes County Veterans Services, and “Veterans Grant Fund.” For tickets call 508-696-6300 or visit MVPlayhouse.org.
