Three Chapman vocal music students won recognition at local and regional vocal competitions in January 2024.

FIrst, soprano Julia Sapeta performed at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Cal-Western competition. The NATS Cal-Western serves Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah. What’s more, Julia placed as a semifinalist and was selected among the top five competiors to advance as finalists for the NATS National Student Audition this coming April.

Later in the month, sopranos Jingyuan “Mary” Zhang and Clarissa Bycott won 1st and 2nd place, respectively, at the 3rd Concordia Music Competition. Zhang progresses to the winners ceremony on Sunday, February 11, at Concordia University in Irvine, CA.
