Fall Dance Concert: Re/invented
Announced on November 18, 2014
Chapman University’s Department of Dance presents the Fall Dance Concert: Re/invented in the Waltmar Theatre, 7:30 p.m. December 10-13, with an additional 2:00 p.m. matinee performance on December 13.
Professor Jennifer Backhaus created the concept Re/invented for this year’s production based on her years of working as the Artistic Director of Backhausdance. In the professional dance world works of choreography are remounted giving a piece new depth and a new point of view. Recasting roles brings in dancers with different skills and interpretations which further stimulate the choreographic process. “Reinventing” a work is both challenging and rewarding for dancers and choreographers. Each choreographer has selected her or his favorite work, one which they have previously choreographed or staged, to share with our audiences — you could say it will be the best of the best!
Tickets: $20 general admission; $15 senior citizens, alumni and non-Chapman students. Contact the Chapman University Ticket Office online or by calling (74) 997-6812.
