CU pianist trio win 2015 MTAC Adult Performance South Region

Three student pianists from Chapman’s Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music won top prize at the 2015 Adult Performance Competition held by the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), South Region, on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at El Camino College in Torrance, CA.
Mia Barinaga ’17, Arsen Jamkotchian ’15, and Stella Monshaw ’17 will go on to compete and represent Southern California this summer at the MTAC State Competition during the organization’s 105th Convention in San Jose, CA, July 3 – 7, 2015.
To be eligible for the Adult Performance competition, applicants must be a student 18 or older at intermediate level or higher; a college student majoring in music, a professional performer, or a MTAC teacher-performer. Barinaga, Jamkotchian and Monshaw are students of Chapman’s Director of Keyboard Studies, Dr. Grace Fong and Coordinator of Secondary Piano, Dr. Janice Park.
