One of the great perks of being at a film school is the interesting guests and events we have so I thought I would share what has been going on here recently. Last night, Peter Weller from RoboCop was here speaking about the film. He told us some hilarious stories about dealing with his heavy and very hot suit he had to wear on set. It was also great to hear an actor’s experience, and hear how he made the transition from stage actor to film star.

Next week we are having an event I am personally very excited about. Our Filmmaker-In-Residence is currently Randal Kleiser, the director from Grease, so next week we are doing a Grease Sing-A-Long! We are encouraging students to dress up, and having a costume contest. I have to admit I am kind of excited to break out an old Halloween costume and dress up! Plus I may or may not know all the words to the songs….

In two weeks, Robert Zemeckis will be here to screen Contact. I know the students are anxiously awaiting that class as well! He was here a few years ago and gave some really great advice to the students.

Our screenings are open to Chapman students only, but you can request a guest pass by contacting the front office at 714-997-6765. Check our events calendar, and if you are around, come watch a great movie and hear from an industry guest!
