On February 22, the annual Barrister’s Ball and PILF Silent Auction (also known as the “law prom”) was held at the Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel. PILF thanks everyone who donated items for the auction, especially Professors Henry Noyes and Tom Bell whose “poker night” donation was the high bid of the evening, yielding $1,400 for PILF summer grants. Congratulations also to Professor Matt Parlow who was selected “Professor of the Year” by the students.
The Chapman University community suffered a major loss on June 28 when Fowler School of Law Professor Michael Lang passed away due to complications from a recent stroke. A faculty member since 2002, Professor Lang was the founding director of the law school’s Tax LL.M. program and taught such courses as Federal Income Taxation, Ethics
