New Book Cover Display Honors Celebrated Steampunk Authors
February 18, 2020
In 2000, Chapman University Professor James P. Blaylock, author and winner of the Nebula & World Fantasy Awards, and his long-time writing colleague Tim Powers founded the Creative Writing Conservatory at Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA). This exhibit, which is part of the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Creative Writing Conservatory, features artwork by students that re-imagines the covers of novels by Blaylock and Powers. Chapman University is one of three campuses involved in the anniversary festival “20/20/20: Twenty Events in Twenty Days Celebrating Twenty Years.” Special thanks to Josh Wood (MFA ‘05), current Director of the OCSA Creative Writing Conservatory, for organizing this exhibit.
Other events on campus have included the poetic investigation and celebration “The Ark of Space” at The Hilbert Museum of California Art at Chapman University on Feb. 8, 2020. For a complete list of festival events, visit www.ocsarts.net/cw202020.
Be sure to come on by the Leatherby Libraries Hall of Art (behind the Reference Desk on the first floor) to check out the exhibit before the end of the month!
