Awards and Recognitions

• Dr. Lawrence Brown was awarded the UOP School of Pharmacy Alumnus of the Year Award and gave the Keynote address during the White Coat Ceremony.

• Through its 40 Under 40 awards program, the Greater Irvine Chamber recognizes the next generation of leaders and advocates who are making strides in their industries and the community in Orange County and beyond. Dr. Amy Kang was chosen as one of the recipients for this 40 under 40 award, and she received her award on 9/21 at a ceremony in Costa Mesa.

Presentations

• Dr. Keykavous Parang collaborated with others to present “Amphiphilic Membrane-Active Peptides: Broad-Spectrum Antibacterial Activity Alone and in Combination with Antibiotics and Structural Insights” at the XXIX Symposium Bioinformatics and Computer-Aided Drug Discovery from September 18-20, 2023.

Publications:

• Dr. Enrique Seoane-Vazquez, Dr. Lawrence Brown, and others published “Cost-effectiveness analysis of androgen deprivation therapy with relugolix for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer” for the Journal of American Pharmacists Association.

• Dr. Cintia Citterio participated in producing “Structural Features of Thyroglobulin Linked to Protein Trafficking” for The Protein Society on September 17, 2023.

• Dr. Aftab Ahmed collaborated with others to publish “Structural and Functional Analysis of Urease Accessory Protein E from Vancomycin-resistance Staphylococcus aureus MU50 strain” in Protein Peptide Letter on September 15, 2023.
