Dr. Amy Kang has received a grant from the Society of Infectious Disease Pharmacists (SIDP) in the amount of $90,000 for her proposal “Advancing antimicrobial stewardship: development of the stewardship personnel required for antimicrobial stewardship programs resource calculator (SPARC)”. The reviewers highlighted many strengths of the proposal, including the use of an implementation science framework, multicenter design, and an excellent research team.

“I am deeply honored to receive this grant and grateful for the opportunity to advance antimicrobial stewardship practices. This work represents a collaborative effort, and I am excited to contribute to the development of resources that support stewardship programs and improve patient outcomes,” says Dr. Amy Kang, who has been with CUSP as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice since July 1, 2018.

Dr. Kang’s dedication to the field of antimicrobial stewardship is evidenced by this excellent work and her recent acquisition of Gold status with the antimicrobial stewardship committee at Harbor-UCLA. These initiatives serve to empower healthcare institutions by providing actionable resources, fostering more effective antimicrobial stewardship programs, and ultimately enhancing patient care outcomes.
