ORANGE, Calif. –Chapman University’s School of law is launching a one-week summer boot camp for all incoming law students, whether admitted to Chapman or elsewhere.

“The first year of law school can be an intimidating and demanding experience,” said School of Law Dean Tom Campbell. “This boot camp is designed to help students refine their analytical skills, hone law school studying and briefing techniques, and provide definitions of key principles that will be essential to success.”

The program will address key issues in two required first year courses—torts and criminal law. Lessons will be delivered by a Chapman law professor in three two-hour sessions each day. Students will learn to brief cases and prepare outlines for law school exams, as well as get advance instruction on how to write effective essay exam answers.

The boot camp, slated for July 30 through August 3, is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the program fee is $500. For more information e-mail lawadm@chapman.edu or call 714-628-2500.
