ORANGE, Calif. – Arnie Pinkston, Terry Mansky, and Alex Winsberg are the newest advisory board members for Chapman University’s Law School. In 2012, Chapman launched the Business Law Emphasis Program, its sixth legal emphasis and certificate program. It provides an immersion into critical business law courses, and also gives unique access to externships, mentors and networking opportunities via its dedicated advisory group of general counsels from major Southern California companies. 

“We are delighted to have these brilliant individuals join our advisory board,” noted Tom Campbell, dean of the law school. “Their experience and contributions will add tremendous value to the business law emphasis program in our school.” 

Arnie Pinkston joined Allergan as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Assistant Secretary in October 2011, with over 25 years of experience managing legal affairs. Prior to joining Allergan, Mr. Pinkston served as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Beckman Coulter, Inc. from 2005 through the company’s sale to Danaher Corporation in June 2011. While at Beckman Coulter, Mr. Pinkston was responsible for all aspects of the company’s global legal affairs as well as the company’s compliance program, corporate social responsibility program, internal audit department and knowledge resources. Prior to joining Beckman Coulter, Mr. Pinkston held various positions at Eli Lilly and Company from 1999 through 2005, including serving as deputy general counsel responsible for the legal affairs of Lilly USA. He Mr. Pinkston received a Bachelor’s Degree in Geophysics from Yale College and a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School.

Terry Mansky is the Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, where he has worked as the Senior Vice President since 2004. He is an expert in capital and expense planning, strategic planning, community relations, process improvement, transactional agreements, developer and landlord relations, litigation management and more. Prior to joining the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Mr. Mansky was a partner at the Law Offices of Johnson & Mansky, a boutique law firm located in Beverly Hills with an emphasis on retail lease negotiation and documentation. Prior to this, Mr. Mansky worked as a solo practitioner specializing in negotiation and documentation of transactional agreements.  He received a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations and earned a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School.

Alex Winsberg is the new General Counsel for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.  Prior to joining the Angels, he spent more than a decade at Cooksey, Tollen, Gage, Duffy & Woog, where his experience included transactional and litigation work for many of California’s wineries. Prior to his time at Cooksey, Alex did litigation and transactional work in admiralty and maritime law, and co-authored a manual on seaman conduct and policies for the maritime industry.  He has a double B.A. (Political Science and History) from UC Riverside, and his J.D. from Tulane, with a specialization certificate in maritime law.

The mission of the Advisory Board is to guide Chapman’s School of Law in its program for those students who intend to practice business law. Tom Campbell, dean of Chapman’s School of Law and director of the Business Law Emphasis Program, is the only Law School dean in America who was formally a top 10 business school dean.
