What:

Chapman University will host Systemic Risk and the Organization of the Financial System with a Keynote address by Thomas Hoenig, Vice-Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. He is scheduled to speak at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 12. Hoenig became director in April 2012, and prior to that served as Chief Executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City from 1991 to 2011. In 2010 he served as a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee. Hoenig’s remarks will be released upon delivery.

Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and opening speakers begin at 9 a.m., both days.

Where:

Friday’s speakers will be at Chapman University’s Sandhu Conference Center, Room D, on N. Grand Ave. in Orange, CA. Saturday’s line up will be at Chapman’s Beckman Hall, Room #104.

Industry leaders from around the world converge at Chapman University in Orange, Calif., at the 2nd annual Systemic Risk and the Organization of the Financial System Conference. The speakers include representatives of the International Monetary Fund, the New York Federal Reserve Bank, major Orange County financial institutions and leading academics including Chapman’s Nobel laureate in economics Vernon Smith. They will bring their knowledge to share on issues like banks being ‘too big to fail,’ global liquidity, stock volatility, clearing mechanisms and other national and international matters affecting the risk on another major financial crisis.
