The Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance at Chapman University will host the 4th annual Home Ownership Day on its Orange campus, Saturday, January 30, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The free educational event, which features 25 targeted sessions for maximizing real estate, is open to the public.

Topics, such as: first time buyers and loans, ways to improve your credit score, reverse mortgages, the escrow process, staging your home, what veterans need to know, home renovation and construction and much more—all related to home ownership in Southern California—are presented by experts for free to attendees.

“We went to the home ownership day last year and are now proud homeowners, “said past attendee Teresa Thrasher. “Who would have thought it was a possibility for me and my husband to buy in California and stop renting! We highly recommend attending this event that changed our lives and make home ownership your reality.”

“This year we moved up the home ownership day to January in anticipation of the Fed increasing interest rates for the first time in a decade, said Fadel Lawandy, director of Chapman University’s Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance. “The shift in interest rates most likely will have a significant impact on both homeowners and home buyers alike. This combined with home values growing at a faster pace than wages, and home affordability continuing to be a challenge for many middle-class, first-time home buyers has resulted in an environment of uncertainties for many in our community. We want to be there to offer relief to some of these uncertainties by providing relevant knowledge and information.”

Major sponsors of the OC Home Fair include: The Hoag Center at Chapman University, The Orange County Register, the Young Professionals Network, and NeighborWorks Orange County.

While the event is free and open to the public, registration for the seminars is requested at: www.ochomefair.com
