Sustain Chapman
August 22, 2013
As a new school year starts there are always a lot of questions about how to get involved with sustainability initiatives on campus. Here are a few ways to get plugged into the sustainability community on Chapman’s Campus!
Help in the Community Garden: Chapman University has a community garden in the Davis Residence Quad. You can sign up to help with weeding, watering, and general maintenance, or even have a bed to grow your own plants.
CSA: Love the idea of local produce, but don’t know much about gardening? Sign up for a CSA box and have fresh, local produce delivered right to campus. And keep an eye out for Sodexo’s CSA cooking classes that teach you how to make yummy meals from the produce.
Henley Eco-Gym: If you love working out, but don’t want to head over to the Argyros Fitness Center, check out the Henley fitness center where the equipment generates energy and you are rewarded for your workouts with prizes from online retailers!
The more you know: Interested in learning more about sustainability? Enroll in one of the many courses on campus that focus on sustainability, attend the sustainability discussion circle held by the the Student Sustainability Leaders, or talk to the career center about a sustainability focused internship.
These are just a few ways that you can become involved in the campus sustainability community. Follow Chapman Sustainability on Facebook and Twitter so you can be the first to know about upcoming programs and projects!
