One of the best parts of working on a university campus is the diverse range of opportunities we have to get involved with the Chapman Family, outside of our roles in University Advancement. Below are just a few opportunities and ideas. My personal favorites are the Health and Wellness fitness sessions and mindful meditation – kickboxing on Thursdays is one of the most intense workouts I’ve ever had and meditation is awesome to gain that inner peace, especially while at work!

Do you participate in a program, committee or other campus activity and would like to share it with your colleagues? Email me, Melissa Hoon, at hoon@chapman.edu.

Safe Space Faculty Staff Training

The Breaking Ground: Safe Space training is an educational intervention designed to support all members of the LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual, and all underrepresented sexual, gender, and/or romantic identities) campus community. The training will assist staff and faculty members who wish to become identified allies on campus in exploring and increasing their own awareness and knowledge of the LGBTQIA community and its history.
