UA Wedding Bells

Congratulations to
John Snyder
,
production engineer
, and his wife Andrea on their recent nuptials! The couple married on July 11 and honeymooned in Puerto Vallarta.

John shares a fun memory from the wedding:

“One humorous moment in the wedding ceremony was preparing for the vows. The fact that the ceremony started an hour late helped emphasize the moment. When it came time to say (my vows) I patted my pockets then turned to Jeff Cole (a former member of the Panther Productions team), my best man, looking for them. He turned to the next man with the same look. He then turned back to me and pulled out a scroll and handed it to me. I fumbled around with it for a moment then let it roll across the stage and down the stairs. At this point the crowd was worried that they had already been there more than an hour and I had about 20 pages of vows to read. At this point I dropped the scroll and got out what I referred to as the cliff notes version of them. The crowd, pastors, the entire wedding party, and especially Andrea, got a good laugh out of it. When we were writing our vows and I read mine to Andrea, she noted they were too serious and I needed to add some humor to lighten them up, so I did.”

Seeking Foster Home for Dogs

foster-dogs
One of our UA colleagues is seeking a long-term foster home for three shih tzus (two 12-year-old males and an 11-year-old female) because of an unexpected change in living arrangements. This person hopes to move somewhere next year that will accommodate the dogs, but needs a foster home for them in the meantime. Preferably the dogs will go together to the same home, but they can be split up if necessary. Food, vet visits, grooming and any other expenses will be paid for by the dogs’ owner.

This person has requested to remain anonymous, so pass on any leads or offers to me at
nicholso@chapman.edu
and I’ll forward them along. If you would like more details, let me know and I’ll put you in touch with the dogs’ owner.
