The fourth annual TEDxChapmanU is already here! A TEDx presentation is a short talk that conveys some of the most innovative ideas on the planet with a passion. TED and TEDx speakers tackle humanity’s toughest questions, attempting to answer them with innovation, enterprise and enduring optimism. With the popular event fast-approaching on Aug. 20 at 1-6 p.m. in the Chapman Auditorium,

, is enlisting UA’s assistance. Read on to find out from Char where you can best plug in to help out.

“As with last year, we have several opportunities for you to be a part of this wonderful event. Please review the shift days and times available (below)—these are the times I need your assistance.  Once you have made your selection(s), please
email me
 your desired shift date and time by no later than Aug. 10 at 11 a.m.

Please remember, staff supporting this event will
not
be considered overtime. It is recommended to speak with your supervisors for their approval before committing to a shift. I will confirm the details and assignments with the volunteers as we get closer to the event!

TEDxChapmanU Volunteer Opportunities

Aug. 17, pre-event:

Pre-Event Bag Stuffing: 
Assist the TEDxChapmanU team with assembling the swag bags for our guests. We need about 20 people for this. Lunch will be provided from 12-1 p.m. 
Shift: Aug. 17, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at 633 W. Palm, Conference Room 124

Aug. 20, day of event:

Registration/Set-Up:
 Process tickets. All tickets have been pre-sold. Attendees will bring their ticket with them to the swag bag tables to get their name badge and swag bag. Also, there may be some people waiting in line to purchase non-claimed tickets. Will Call tickets unclaimed by 12:55 will be released to on a first-come basis. I need 12 people for this.
Shift: Aug. 20, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Set-Up:
 Parking signs, flamingo flocking and the like. Must be able to drive one of the electric carts.
Shift: Aug. 20, 7:30-8:30 a.m.

Usher
: Assist attendees to their seats prior to the start of the event and after each break. Be familiar where the food, restrooms and other areas are located so you can help direct attendees. At the end of a break, help encourage people to take their seat so the program can resume on time.
Shifts: Aug. 20, 12:30-3 p.m. or 3-end of event (approximately 5:30 p.m.)
