The UA Beach Bash: A Retrospective
October 14, 2015
It was a blazing hot day on Friday, August 21 but that didn’t stop us from partying like it’s mid-to-late 2015 at the UA End of Summer Beach Bash. It was easy to stay cool, in fact, because lurking around every corner was a colleague waiting to launch a very refreshing (and surprising) water gun attack. No one was more ruthless than Michele Wanner, associate vice president of development, who successfully ambushed Carol Bonner, assistant vice president of operations and information systems. A battle for the ages ensued.
Many team members beat the heat by playing life-size Jenga. We watched with baited breath as the tower grew more and more unstable. It’s a bit more nerve-racking when the blocks are a foot long and the tower is almost as tall as you. Our intrepid Jenga competitors included Ryan Tolentino, senior graphic designer, Max Torres, reporting support analyst, Matt Congel, web technology specialist, and James Kerr, web technology specialist.
All in all, it was a great opportunity to have some fun and get to know each other better. Thank you to all who joined us to make the UA End of Summer Beach Bash a party for the record books! Special kudos to Chris Rynd, manager of advancement communications, for being the only person to jump in the pool. But does that really surprise anyone?
