Homecoming Recap
November 6, 2015
Rumor has it that the 2015 Chapman Family Homecoming Celebration was one of our best homecoming weekends to date! From nearly overflowing reunion parties, to engaging parent events like faculty masters classes, to a new-friends-old-friends mixing of students and alumni of all ages, it’s easy to see why this weekend was such a blast.
Adding to the weekend’s appeal, University Advancement proved to be a strong, well-oiled machine with fluidity and ease moving from one event to the next. Gracious compliments from parents, students, alumni and friends alike reflect that our top-notch teamwork, passionate planning and careful coordination helped create a fun-filled weekend for all Panthers! Don’t just take it from me, check out what our colleagues have to say below about their favorite homecoming memories, and enjoy flipping through the homecoming photos beneath their quotes.
“One of the best moments for me was seeing the photos that people were posting on Facebook of themselves and friends standing next to the photo towers in the Piazza and the photo walls in the Alumni Suite. Everyone had such great smiles and seemed a bit surprised to see themselves on these photos around campus. What made it even more great for me was knowing that a dedicated team at Absolute Exhibits (Todd Koren ’01), many of whom were also Panther alumni, worked to put all those pictures together and build those great displays for everyone in the Chapman Family to enjoy!” —

James Van Arsdel ’71 and Nancy Ackelson ’78 reconnect with Edward Bass ’15 at the Semester at Sea Luncheon.
“One of my favorite moments from the weekend was watching sweetheart couple James Van Arsdel ’71 and Nancy Ackelson ’78 reconnect with recent alum Edward Bass ’15 at the luncheon celebrating 50 Years of Semester at Sea. They had met Edward when they decided to go on Semester at Sea for their third time in the spring of 2013. They were so happy to see Edward and I was so glad they could reconnect at the event!” —
