The alumni board celebrates a successful 2014
January 29, 2015
The Chapman University Alumni Association Board of Directors would like to thank Drs. Jim and Lynne Doti for graciously hosting the board holiday party at their home on Friday, January 16, 2015. Guests were treated to a lovely dinner and entertainment to celebrate their accomplishments of the past year, including reinvigorating the career development program and launching the Alumni Ambassadors.
Dr. Doti provided tours of his home, including a stop to visit his four chickens (Paula II, Harriet, Little Jerry and Renegade) in their coop. While Dr. Doti proclaimed the chickens’ residence to be the Fort Knox of chicken coops, keeping out all would-be predators, board members commented that the beautiful accommodations might better be compared to the Four Seasons.
Alumni board president, Jimmy Blalock (JD ’09) welcomed the group and introduced Doy Henley, chairman of the Chapman University Board of Trustees and recent recipient of the C.C. Chapman Award. Attendees then enjoyed a performance by The Wimberley Bluegrass Band. Incredibly, the band is composed of four siblings who are all juniors at Chapman.
After celebrating last year successes, the board looks forward to accomplishing goals in 2015, such as providing additional networking opportunities to alumni through
Chappy Hour
and other career-focused events.
