Our college days might be over, but we still know how to have a good time! Our time at Chapman was not just about studying; it was also about building relationships and making connections. These connections helped us grow and thrive as students and they are just as important today. Why not find a way to continue building connections with fellow Chapman grads in your area and share the Panther Pride?

Several years ago,
Aaron Flewellen ’04
came up with a brilliant idea to create an avenue for this. It was simple: provide an opportunity for alumni all over the country to get together for happy hour. Thus, Chappy Hour was born. Over the past three years, Chappy Hours have taken place in locations across the country.

Chappy Hours are laid back, fun events to get together with fellow alumni in your area. All types of connections have been made, from new friends to professional networking. Alumni have not only made new connections, they’ve also rekindled old ones.

leika-and-cj-1We were both invited to Chappy Hour by our college roommates (Chris Becerra ’05 (M.A. ’08) & Kelsey (Smith) Flewellen ’05) and were excited to reconnect with college friends living locally. I just moved back to town and CJ just reconnected with his college roommate. Excited about these monthly meet ups all over Orange County, we attended the first Chappy Hour in Newport Beach at Classic Q. That night we were reintroduced- we don’t remember knowing each other in college, but our Facebook friendship, common friends and being presidents of our Greek organizations at the same time said otherwise. After that night we started spending more time together, including attending summer concerts at Hart Park and hosting dinners. Fast forward almost exactly three years later, and here we are together all because of Chappy Hour. Recently CJ asked me to marry him and I said yes! – Leika Arrieta ’05 (pictured with fiancee CJ Bishop ’05 (MBA ’08))
