Election Day marks a historic moment for the Leatherby Center as it celebrates the nationwide success and impact of Voter, a mobile app developed by Chapman Launch Lab students. voter-tagline

Voter asks a few questions about your political opinions, outlines political issues as you swipe through, and then presents you with the political candidates who most closely align with your preferences – think of it as Tinder for politics.

Voter was founded in 2014 by Hunter Scarborough (’12 B.A., Public Relations and Advertising). With the help of Chapman Launch Labs, Voter was released in 2015 and has more than 250,000 users. Today, Voter enables you to cast an informed vote in the 2016 election.

Voter will be showcased at Fall Demo Day, along with other successful entrepreneur teams working in Launch Labs. A few teams that will be in attendance include:

  • well-told-logoWell Told Entertainment – a virtual and augmented reality production company with an emphasis on game design and narrative content. Well Told strives to craft unique experiences that bridge the gap between traditional forms of entertainment and new technologies and aims to bring a new spin to the old idea of a “good story well told.”
  • beatshareBeatshare – a mobile messaging platform that brings music into the heart of communication, allowing individuals to express their thoughts, feelings, and emotions in a whole new way. The mobile app allows users to create and share messages through 15 second music clips complete with a photo or video.
  • 23fiftn-copy23 FIFTN – a full-service creative content agency that develops and produces engaging content to support brands in establishing a distinct identity. Services include creating comprehensive advertising campaigns, as well as, individual branded content pieces (i.e. commercials, graphic advertisements, music videos, look books, etc.).

Fall Demo Day will be held on Tuesday, November 15 from 1 – 7 p.m. and is a part of the California Dreamin’ Series of Showcase Events. The purpose of this new format is to provide maximum interaction between our leading Launch Labs entrepreneur teams and the diverse members of our extended Leatherby Center family. The program will feature Launch Lab teams through storytelling and table presentations at Chapman’s Leatherby Center (549 W. Palm).
