The Chapman MBA Alumni Association is excited to announce our official charitable partnership with Orangewood Samueli Academy. This partnership reflects our aligned interest in education, as well as a desire to give back to local youth. We look forward to providing Chapman MBA Alumni with unique giving opportunities to share their professional experiences, insights, and expertise with Samueli Academy students.

Through the vision of General William Lyon and Bill Steiner, Orangewood Foundation was established in 1981 to build a shelter for abused and neglected children in Orange County. This vision continued to grow and in 2013 Orangewood opened the Samueli Academy Charter High School. This was the result of a decade of research on improving high school graduation rates in foster youth.

Our Chapman MBA Alumni Board recognizes that the next generation of business leaders need the tools to be successful both personally and professionally as they embark on their future endeavors. As a result, we are committed to making a positive impact for those students attending the academy. In the next few months, the “Chapman Orangewood Support Program” will be launched, which will pair Chapman MBA Alumni with recent Samueli Academy graduates to mentor young adults during their first few months following graduation as they transition to college or trade school. Our goal is to provide an additional support system to help these teenagers navigate their continuing education and lead them to a very bright future.

Our members recently participated in Orangewood Samueli Academy’s bi-annual virtual Career Conference on Friday, March 12th, 2021. Workshops were conducted for students from 7th to 12th grade with topics ranging from career industry exploration to internship success and college preparation.
