Eric Hong, a current student at Chapman University, is majoring in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and minoring in Creative & Cultural Industries (CCI). Projected to graduate in 2026, Eric describes his first two years at Chapman as “nothing short of life-changing.” He reflects on the significant personal and academic growth he has experienced, stating, “I’ve met lifelong friends and seen myself develop tremendously both inside and outside of the classroom.”
Campus Involvement and Community
Active involvement in campus organizations has been a cornerstone of Eric’s Chapman experience. He is a dedicated member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business fraternity, which has provided him with numerous opportunities to hone his leadership and networking skills. Eric emphasizes the importance of building connections and the impact of the supportive community at Chapman: “The community has truly enriched my time at Chapman.”
Professional Growth and Internships
Eric’s time at Chapman has been marked by impressive professional achievements. He previously served as a Marketing and Brand Partnerships Fellow at AMAZN HQ, a company founded by a Chapman alum, from December 2023 to June 2024. This fall, he will begin a new role as a Business Operations and Strategy Intern in Ad Sales at NBCUniversal. Reflecting on his internship experiences, Eric highlights the skills he has developed: “The top 5 skills I feel I’ve developed the most are Leadership, Effective Communication, Teamwork, Time Management, and Networking.”
Memorable Moments
Eric’s favorite memories at Chapman are a testament to the vibrant student life and the close-knit community. He fondly recalls late-night study sessions in the library and exploring the local cafes in the Circle. “My list of favorite memories at Chapman is never-ending and constantly growing,” he says. “Getting involved in classes and student organizations has allowed me to build lasting relationships and friendships with people I will know for a lifetime.”
Future Aspirations
Looking ahead, Eric is focused on continuing his personal and professional growth. His long-term career goal is to become a Senior Account Manager of a major Brand Partnership. He aims to “maximize my eagerness to learn and to continue growing personally, academically, and professionally so that I may leave a legacy that positively impacts and inspires others.”
Leveraging Chapman Resources
Eric’s proactive approach to utilizing the resources at Chapman has played a significant role in his success. He advises fellow students to take full advantage of the support available, from the alum network to career services. “Every student at Chapman needs to take advantage of the resources provided,” he says. Eric’s journey includes countless interactions with counselors, teachers, and professors who have been instrumental in helping him secure internships and build his professional portfolio.
