Meet Diba Vazirian, your ACBE Senator for the 2024-2025 term! Diba is an Economics major with a minor in Analytics, set to graduate in 2027. Hailing from San Diego, CA, Diba is passionate about making a difference on campus and ensuring that the voices of Argyros College  (ACBE) students are heard.

Diba found Chapman to be the perfect blend of proximity and independence. She was drawn to Chapman’s intimate campus size and small class sizes, which allowed her to foster meaningful relationships with her professors. These connections deepened her passion for her major and the career paths it opens up. She also feels that Argyros professors and administrators work hard to support students in jumping into the professional world as prepared as possible.

Why Run for ASBE Senator?

Diba’s journey to becoming the ACBE Senator was inspired by her belief in the power of student voices at Chapman. “It is so valuable that Chapman students have the power to make changes on campus,” Diba expressed. Seeing her friends make tangible impacts through the Student Government Association (SGA) motivated her to contribute her ideas. She is enthusiastic about implementing new initiatives and inspiring others to get involved in shaping the campus community.

Plans and Vision as ACBE Senator

As the ACBE Senator, Diba is committed to representing the best interests of ACBE students and the broader Chapman community within the SGA. Her role involves facilitating communication between students, clubs, and ACBE leaders, securing funding, and promoting the missions of various student organizations. Diba is particularly focused on enhancing student advising resources and boosting student engagement in the events provided by Argyros. “I am so excited to help Argyros clubs and organizations receive the necessary SGA funding, and I aspire to help all of these clubs and organizations develop a financial plan,” she shared.

Diba is accessible and eager to connect with the student body. She plans to hold office hours from 12 pm – 1 pm on Thursdays during the Fall 2024 semester and encourages students to reach out via email at acbesenator@chapman.edu or through her Instagram (@diba4argyros). Diba is always open to conversation and welcomes anyone who catches her on campus to stop and chat.
