Chapman Alumni Success

Noah Estrada-Rand ’20

After his summer internship at Pacific Life as a Data Analytics intern, Noah Estrada-Rand ’20 was welcomed to join the team full-time. He applied for Pacific Life’s Analytics program and shared that becoming a strong candidate for this opportunity depended on exploring and diving into what he found interesting within the Data Analytics field through school projects and research. “(During my internship,) I took advantage of the opportunities to showcase my skills and I also got to practice and really understand what this role requires,” Noah said.

Valerie Chang ’17

Valerie Chang ’17 started her freshman year as a Business Administrative finance major, and like Noah, was involved in school activities that set a foundation for her success. Valerie’s involvement in the Chapman Residency program was instrumental in equipping her with the necessary skills.

Additionally, Valerie asserted that the program presented her with networking opportunities and the chance to engage with professionals as a student. “Under the Chapman Residency program, we were able to have hands-on experience in portfolio management and managing the student management investment fund. I was responsible for the economic forecast and through that, I was able to participate in many student competitions, which led me to meet potential employers. The most helpful thing I did at Chapman was getting connected with professors and trying to explore different career paths,” Valerie said.
