Drs. Amy Ardell and Meghan Cosier led a travel course to Greece in June 2022 for Chapman Teacher Education students and provided this description and photos.

Students visited cultural sites such as the Acropolis, Delphi, and Delos as well as the island of Mykonos. They also spent three days with teachers, administrators, and leadership at the American Community Schools (ACS) Athens learning about international curriculum, teacher-led action research, and the innovative ACS Athens Youth-to-Youth program supporting undocumented minor refugees. Chapman teacher candidates also presented their Capstone or Learning Differences projects to panels of ACS Athens teachers and leaders.

We are proud to offer experiences for teacher education candidates to more deeply understand their responsibility to prepare preK-12 students to be global citizens. We are grateful for the collaboration with ACS Athens. We want to thank ACS Athens President Dr. Peggy Pelonis, and Dean of the ACS Athens Institute Carla Tanas for welcoming us. We look forward to continued collaboration with ACS Athens in the future.
