CETL Program for New and Early Career Faculty: Productive Pathways to Promotion

To complement your college/school mentoring program and events sponsored by the Office of Faculty Advancement, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning is excited to announce its year-long program and community specifically designed to support early career, tenure-track (TT) and non-tenure-track (NTT) faculty. Clear expectations, strategic planning, mastering academic time management, maintaining work-life balance, and cultivating a healthy support system are essential to thriving in academe. The “Pathways” program includes a series of six focused sessions and additional support opportunities throughout the academic year, all designed to provide the information, perspectives, strategies, and support needed to successfully prepare for the critical year review, promotion, and tenure at Chapman.

What faculty said about last year’s Pathways program:

CETL’s Productive Pathways to Promotion program offers professionally curated learning experience. The organizers provided rich and informative materials that helped me rebuild and rethink my teaching content and style. The organizers were efficient, supportive, and responsive, making the experience enriching and impressively well-organized.”

Pathways is a great resource to learn more about the RTP process, meet wonderful people, and extend your network inside Chapman. And we have a good time!

“These sessions were extremely useful. They helped me understand the process of promotion better and I feel much more prepared now!”

“I just submitted my CY2 packet and the workshops and materials were instrumental for writing my teaching statement and reflection.”
