Happy Holidays and Season’s Greetings from the Escalette Permanent Collection of Art!
2019 has been an exciting year for the Escalette Collection! Here are some of the highlights:
- A generous gift from the Ellingson Family allowed us to develop our ceramics collection by purchasing seminal works by prestigious ceramicists based in southern California.
- Our Spring 2019 exhibition, New Looks: Recent Acquisitions from the Escalette Collection, displayed contemporary pieces from our new acquisitions.
- As part of a campus-wide interdisciplinary project La Frontera/The Border: An Interdisciplinary Examination, the Escalette Collection installed two exhibits of recently acquired work about borders. A number of public events encouraged the campus and wider community to examine controversial issues around borders.
