Chapman University and O.C. Food Access Coalition Collaborate to Help Battle Food Insecurity Over 2,000 servings have already been donated to Mary's Kitchen and Friendly Center
July 28, 2017
In early 2017, Chapman University launched a partnership with the O.C. Food Access Coalition to help reduce wasted produce in University-owned homes leased to faculty and staff.
Since March, 825 pounds of fresh produce have been harvested from several homes in Old Towne, with over 2,000 servings being donated to those in need. Our fruit–consisting of oranges, grapefruits, avocados and more–stays local and is donated to Friendly Center and Mary’s Kitchen.
