5:00 PM: Exhibition opening at the Guggenheim Gallery
Chapman University is one of 70 institutions in Southern California that is participating in Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA—an initiative of the Getty in which arts institutions across Southern California will join together to explore the vast subject of Latin American and Latino Art in dialogue with Los Angeles this fall.
Chapman is one of only four institutions in Orange County participating and will feature exhibits on and around the campus showcasing a variety of art created by Latino and Latina artists.The springboard for Chapman’s project is a 1979 mural, El Proletariado de Aztlán, by Emigdio Vasquez.
