Community partnerships support local businesses during pandemic Chapman teams up with the Orange Chamber of Commerce to ensure the success of local businesses
October 6, 2020
This is a tough time for local businesses, and we want to take a moment to recognize the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Orange for their work in coordinating the Plaza Paseo. The outdoor dining venue and shopping experience has been a boon
to our community in these uncertain times, and as students arrive back in the neighborhood, we’re encouraging them to explore (safely!) the open-air dining options and patronize local businesses.
“COVID-19 made the Chamber think outside the box on how we can continue to provide business services,” says Irma Hernandez, executive director of the Orange Chamber of Commerce.“We have reinvented many of our services and programs for local businesses.”
Chapman is proud to be a long-time partner and Chairman’s Circle Member of the Orange Chamber of Commerce. We are also the presenting sponsor of the annual State of the City event, the Chamber’s biggest annual fundraiser.
“This partnership is vital to ensuring the fiscal stability of the community,” says Hernandez. “Chapman students and faculty are an important part of maintaining the economic viability of Old Towne Orange; their support of the downtown Paseo program is appreciated.”
The vitality of our community depends on the success of our local businesses, so we’re partnering with the Chamber to offer a lunch-and-learn session for local business owners this fall, Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and the Chamber’s website for updates.
