On April 16, The Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education and the Department of Theatre will present “A Readers’ Theatre Evening:  Excerpts from
The Trial of God
by Elie Wiesel”, directed by Theatre Chair Nina LeNoir.  Set in a Ukrainian village in 1649, following a pogrom in which all but two of the village’s Jews were murdered, this powerful play asks the piercing question:  Where is God when innocent people suffer?  The performance will feature theatre majors Amir Malaklou (’12), Chris Voss (’12), Sam Weiner (’12), Megan Muriset (’12), Martha Magruder (’12), Trevor Shor (’13) and Matt Gallenstein (’13), and Conservatory of Music alumna Daphne Mae Wagner (’10) will play solo clarinet prior to the reading.

Professor of Theatre Michael Nehring will also appear in the production, which will be followed by a conversation with Elie Wiesel and the performers.  Tickets will go on sale April 1.  The Readers’ Theatre Evening will be held in the Waltmar Theatre at 7:00pm, ticket prices are $10 general admission; $5 with Chapman ID.  For information, call 714-744-7087.
