Chapman University’s acclaimed University Singers group is preparing to launch it’s annual concert tour next week, with plans to give four free, public concerts in Northern California beginning January 19 through January 24. Upon return to Orange County, a special Post-Tour Concert will be held on February 5 on the Chapman campus. Tickets for the February concert are available now.

To kick off the trip, the group will visit Orange County School of the Arts this Thursday, January 14 to conduct the first of several tour workshops for high schools.

Led by Dr. Stephen Coker, the Chapman University Singers group is comprised of 33 Vocal Performance students who will perform pieces including Renaissance works of Anerio and Monteverdi, Romantic compositions by Rheinberger and Brahms, and contemporary pieces of American composers William Hawley, Richard Burchard, and H. Garrett Phillips. Conducted by Stephen Coker, the choir will also perform folk selections from Scotland, Cuba, France, and the Philippines.
