Dr. Edward Dana has been a beloved member of the Chapman faculty for over 33 years in the Psychology department at Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Dana attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., where he was a history major, played varsity football and was active in the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. Earning his MA from Chapman University in Child Psychology, followed by a doctorate in Social Psychology at USC he worked for The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) for 15 years (while teaching at Chapman). There he completed over 300, four-hour leadership- development sessions with senior executives. The sessions, as part of an intense, one-week leadership enhancement program, consisted of the interpretation of psychological instruments, as these applied to client’s goals. CCL was assessed as the number one non-academic leadership development organization in the country by Business Week.Dr. Dana

Dean Janeen Hill remarked, “Ed has been a pillar here in the Chapman community. He is well-liked by his students and will be remembered for his wit, intelligence and engaging teaching style. His dedication to Chapman has been a testament to his strong character and we will miss him dearly. We celebrate his numerous contributions to Crean College and thank him for over 33 years of service.”

A retirement celebration was held for Dr. Dana, his family and the Crean faculty and staff saluting his long career at Chapman. Thankfully Dr. Dana will still be around campus as he will be teaching on the Psychology faculty on a part-time basis.

Dr. Dana shared, “I love what I do and take great interest in assisting students to help reach their academic and personal potentials. My time here at Chapman truly has been remarkable. In retirement, I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family and doing some traveling.”

We salute you Dr. Dana on your immeasurable accomplishments here at Chapman University.
