Happy Hunting, written and directed by alumni Joe Dietsch (BFA/FP ’09) and Louie Gibson (BFA/FP ’11) is screening at the AMC Orange 30 beginning this Friday, September 22. Showtimes are 11:40 a.m. and 2:10 p.m.! The movie is also available on VOD the same day.

directors Louie Gibson and Joe Dietsch.

Happy Hunting PosterHappy Hunting follows Warren, a degenerate drifter, suffering from debilitating alcohol withdrawals on a daily
basis. On his way down to Mexico, he becomes stranded in Bedford Flats, a one-horse town nestled deep in
the American desert. It was a once-prosperous hunting community that has been reduced to an impoverished
dust bowl. Unfortunately for Warren, it turns out that the town’s pastime is rounding up drifters and hunting
them as part of an elaborate sporting event. To make matters worse, he’ll go into alcoholic withdrawal unless
he finds a way to stay loaded. It all builds to a blood-soaked, live-or-die showdown deep in the desert.

The film stars Australian born Martin Dingle Wall (Home and Away, Strangerland, Salty), Ken Lally (Heroes),
and Kenny Wormald (Footloose, Kid Cannabis, Love & Mercy, Fear The Walking Dead).

Happy Hunting was filmed on a 21-day schedule throughout various locations of the California desert, such
as Bombay Beach, Barstow, Trona, and Winterhaven.

A live ensemble orchestra was brought in to match the moody, tension-building scenes of the film. An original
score was composed and orchestrated for Happy Hunting by Rhyan Derrico and Simon H. Jay. Ben Bostick
wrote and preformed additional original music. Sound design was provided by 424 Post.

The Gersh Agency is representing the film domestically. French-based WTFilms is representing the film
internationally. Gibson and Dietsch are both repped by Gersh.
